YOUSUIEN, The Japanese garden embodying the tradition and history of Kyoto.

YOUSUIEN dates back to the Muromachi era(1338-1573).

YOUSUIEN was the residence of Mitsumoto Hosokawa, shogunal deputy in the 15th century. The residence was built in 1405 using the remained building materials of Kinkaku, Golden Pavilion.

In the garden, you can see the bounty of the seasons.Cherry blossoms in spring, water lilies in summer, colored leaves in autumn, white camellias in winter.
